13-6-2022: Inverness
We start our day with breakfast in our hotel. We realize we've become spoiled. If this would have been our first hotel, we would have thought breakfast was great. Now we thought is was 'mwah'. Time to get back to the real world hahaha.
When we were planning our trip, we were thinking we could maybe take a day trip while in Inverness, but all the travelling and impressions are starting to take a toll. So we decided to just explore Inverness. The castle is permanently closed to visitors, but we did admire it from the outside.
First, we visited the Victorian Market. Quite a few of the stalls were closed (maybe because it's a Monday?). We also explored the huge second hand bookstore Leaky's. The store is almost like a library (huge and very organized). Nonetheless, we don't find anything we like. In the two regular 2nd hand bookstores we come across we did find some nice deals (I mean, 50% off on new books, what Dutchman can resist that?). The not-enough-space-in-the-suitcase-problem is solved by leaving behind my boots. They're completely worn down by now and we're going into summer, so I won't be wearing them anymore anyway.
For lunch we went to Coyote's Burgers (a recommendation I found online). It was really good.
For dinner we went to a pub called The King's Highway and for dessert we got gelato at Miele's. All in all, it was a great & relaxed day.
