12-6-2022 travelling to Inverness
Another travel day... The alarm was set extra early, because we had to take the bus at 7. We could have chanced it and taken a bus later, but if that was full or delayed, we'd miss our train. And there were only two trains leaving on Sunday. So, we chose the safe option. We had seats in the bus and arrived on time in Kyle of Lochalsh. There, I bought more than enough snacks to get us through the 2,5 hour train ride (no first class available here).
According to the internet, the journey from Kyle to Inverness is very pretty. We wholeheartedly agree with the internet! We arrive a little earlier than expected in Inverness. Our hotel room isn't ready yet, but we're allowed to leave our suitcases behind. We decide to go have lunch in town. On our way back, we come across a store called Poundland. It's like Action in The Netherlands, or a Dollar Store in the US. These kind of stores are always 'dangerous', because you usually end up buying more than you'd planned on.
Inverness is a beautiful city. We'll explore more the next day, because the early morning is catching up with us. We did get a nice view of the castle from across the river:
